Just minutes before the chaotic standoff, mayhem erupted when Cisneros stabbed a 68-year-old man and Erin in the space of about 20 seconds. Both were stabbed in the abdomen with kitchen knives. Eyewitnesses said Cisneros had been threatening tourists in the packed square before stabbing the two victims. Cops described the suspect as “emotionally disturbed”. Cisneros is said to have stabbed the older man before going on to kill bank VP Erin. Police said the suspect fled the scene and raced north, being met by cops at Seventh Avenue West and 42nd and 43rd Streets. She charged at police and was shot. The suspect was then rushed to hospital in “critical condition” but later succumbed to her injuries. The attack was initially reported as a knifepoint robbery, but police now believe the woman had no clear motive, police said. Streets in the surrounding area were cordoned off following the rampage.
