Bangladesh’s foreign minister meets high-ranking Qatari officials during trip to the Gulf state

Qatar’s PM-FM met Bangladesh’s foreign minister and UN General Assembly president-elect to discuss Doha-Dhaka ties. Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met with Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman on Wednesday during his visit to Doha.During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed congratulated Rahman on his election to lead the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, wishing him success in his new role.The two sides reviewed relations between Qatar and Bangladesh and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation. They also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, as well as issues of mutual interest.Discussions also covered prospects for cooperation between Qatar and the United Nations in addressing global challenges, particularly in peacebuilding, sustainable development and climate change.On Tuesday, Qatar’s Minister of Finance Ahmed Al Kuwari met Rahman at the Ministry of Finance headquarters in Doha.The meeting focused on bilateral relations and opportunities to expand cooperation between Qatar and Bangladesh, alongside discussions on issues of common concern.Rahman’s visit comes ahead of his tenure as president of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
