Resident Evil's Maggie Robertson Comments On Her Next "Dangerous" Role, Warlock's Tasha Published Aug 5, 2026, 6:11 AM EDT Sign in to your TheGamer account Maggie Robertson—of Orin the Red and Lady Dimitrescu fame—is well-accustomed to playing cunning and dangerous women. This trend is set to continue with her role in Hasbro's upcoming Dungeons & Dragons game, Warlock. Robertson's involvement in the project was announced at this year's Gen Con, where it was revealed she would play Iggwilv, better known as the archmage Tasha (yes, the one who invented the Hideous Laughter). Robertson became involved in the world of Dungeons & Dragons and tabletop role-playing after playing Orin in Baldur's Gate 3, and has since participated in several live-plays. In other words, a return to the Forgotten Realms is a natural choice for the actor. Robertson Is Very Excited About Her Next Role Art from Tasha's Cauldron Of Everything In a recent interview with Wargamer, Robertson revealed how she felt about playing a legendary character like Tasha; a character everyone is aware of, even if it's only through her spells: Tasha's Hideous Laughter, Tasha's Mind Whip, among others. "I like characters that are complex," Robertson reveals. "She's not quite an antihero, but she's neither good nor bad, and I think that makes her a very fascinating character." Tasha—who originated in Gary Gygax's Greyhawk setting—is certainly a multifaceted character; she consorts with demons, possesses an ever-increasing lust for power and continuously pushes metaphysical boundaries. She's not wholly destructive, but many would consider her an evil being. "She's very charming and cunning, and all of that makes her really dangerous," Robertson continues. "She's so smart - she knows how to wrap you around her finger and get you to do whatever she wants." As you may have surmised, the game Warlock casts you in the role of a warlock named Kaatri who has made a pact with... Tasha. We don't know an excessive amount about the game apart from the basic premise, but we do know it will be third-person and combat-focused. Warlock is under development at Invoke Studios, a once-independent studio that was acquired by Hasbro in 2019. The Canada-based developer is best known for Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, a spiritual successor to Snowblind's Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance series. That being said, D&D: Dark Alliance was critically panned at release and is largely forgotten. Invoke is more-or-less following up on Larian's record-breaking Baldur's Gate 3, which is an extremely tall order for the studio, especially given the expectations Hasbro likely has for the game. Warlock doesn't yet have a release date. Warlock Developer(s) Invoke Studios Publisher(s) Wizards of the Coast Franchise Dungeons & Dragons Genre(s) Action, Adventure
