Baldur's Gate 3: The Sunless Citadel Custom Campaign Is Out Now

The Sunless Citadel - Custom Campaign by Nexus Mods user Batilfly gives us a new area to explore, with new NPCs, quests, locations, and enemies. The campaign's author says that it's more linear than the base game, describing it as a dungeon crawler, so it sounds perfect for anyone looking for more action. The Sunless Citadel Gives Us Even More To Get Up To In Baldur's Gate 3 "This is a standalone custom campaign for Baldur's Gate 3, inspired by the Sunless Citadel 3rd edition module," says modder Batilfly. "It's a short, linear dungeon crawl built entirely from scratch over about six months of solo development." You can see it in action in the trailer above. Here, we can see that Batilfly has created new locations and characters from scratch. Batilfly is still working on the custom campaign, so expect updates. In particular, the modder wants to add a functioning camp system, quest tracking, and proper fast travel. In the meantime, the latter is handled through items the player will be given, but since the campaign is more linear, we are reassured that we probably won't get lost. Don't expect this mod to come to console; custom campaigns are often far too big to be ported over. This comes just days after another huge custom campaign dropped, Act 2 Expansion. This adds a new region, integrated into the game's second act to pad it out. There are many more custom campaigns to dive into, and plenty in active development, thanks to Larian releasing official mod support while it was still dropping Baldur's Gate 3 updates.
