Sam’s journey in games journalism has taken him all over the world. He’s covered Gamescom in Germany, Summer Game Fest in Los Angeles, and Tokyo Game Show in Japan, each on three occasions. He’s been learning Japanese since 2024 with the intention of identifying and translating Japanese-language news and bringing it to English-language audiences first, something he’s done countless times. Sam’s first review was 2020’s Battletoads reboot, and he’s since reviewed games in The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, and Pokemon franchises. One of the main reasons Baldur's Gate 3 is so beloved is because of its eclectic cast of characters. Astarion is a snarky, charismatic vampire, Shadowheart is a tough religious nut, Lae'zel is a fierce warrior, and Gale is a bit of a wet wizard. Their journey with your created Tav is special; each playthrough feels different because of their interactions. Of course, if you don't opt to create a Tav, you can use one of Baldur's Gate 3's main cast members as an Origin Character, completing a playthrough from their perspective. Now, a new batch of content officially vetted, uploaded, and approved by Larian is headlined by major changes to Origin Characters, giving them a brand-new perk. This comes alongside a huge new class and Warlock subclass. Baldur's Gate 3 Console Version Gets 14 New Pieces Of Content, Including Origin Changes, A Fiend Hunter Class, And Soul Reaper Subclass Larian has done a fantastic job at keeping Baldur's Gate 3 alive. While the studio didn't really need to do anything, given just how varied each playthrough feels, it released eight major patches, with the last coming in April 2025. Although official content stopped coming, the team continued to vet the best user-created mods, uploading the cream of the crop to the console versions of its game. This year has seen some stellar content move from PC to consoles, including a version of Shadow of Mordor's Nemesis System, a werewolf version of Shadowheart, and quite literally dozens of new races, classes, and subclasses. The latest of these drops has just hit consoles, and we've done the legwork, collating each one of them here for you, so you don't have to worry. You can check them out below: Mass Rez Scroll - Changes Scroll of Revivify to apply to multiple downed targets.
