Bad Bunny’s Latest adidas Sneaker Is Embracing the Bulk

The pair has built up quite the sneaker catalogue together, and just when you think they’ve squeezed all they can out of one silhouette, there’s another iteration waiting around the corner.This time, it’s the adidas BadBo 1.1.For its first outing, the 1.1 arrives in Chalk White, Grey Two, and Pink, giving the chunky silhouette a softer look than you might expect. The upper mixes leather and textile, with suede detailing and dimpled mesh bringing some texture to the otherwise muted palette. It’s still unmistakably Bad Bunny, though, thanks to the thick rope laces, stitched tongue detail, and familiar star and Trefoil branding at the heel.The biggest change comes in the construction. The padded mid-top shape of the original has been dropped in favor of a lower, cleaner profile, while the smooth toe has been replaced with a more traditional T-toe shape. It gives the BadBo a slightly sportier feel without losing the weirdness that made the original so recognisable.And that’s probably the appeal here. It’s familiar enough to feel like part of the BadBo family, but different enough to have its own identity.
