Axed Loose Women star left heartbroken as they announce family death in emotional tribute

FORMER Loose Women star Lee Peart has shared a poignant tribute following the death of a close family member. Lee, 36, who was axed as the show’s warm-up act last year, took to Instagram to reveal his grandmother’s death. He penned: “Well, it feels somewhat strange to be posting on here, a platform that my Grandma did not know even existed. Sign up for the TV newsletter Thank you! “In fact, any time we’d even take a photo on our phones she’d remark, ‘It’s amazing what technology is like these days, Lee!’ “But I share lots on here, so it would feel remiss to not share that my WONDERFUL Grandma Mavis passed away peacefully last night.” Lee Peart hosts a wine podcast alongside Alan Carr Credit: Instagram/bottomsupshow Lee’s former Loose Women colleagues soon paid their respects to Mavis Credit: Getty Lee said there are “many things” he will remember Mavis for, adding: “When people say ‘she’d give you the last penny in her purse’, I always think of her. “Even at the age of 36 she’d slip me a tenner and say ‘get yourself a drink on me’. “When I worked on Loose Women she’d switch on ITV at approximately 1.25pm each day to see my name on the credits.” Lee also included a photo of himself as a child, dressed in Mavis’ clothes as his alter ego “Auntie Maureen.” Most read in TV He concluded: “I’m mindful of what a privilege it was to be able to say goodbye to her properly – and, more than anything, what a privilege it was to have had her as my Grandma.” Lee’s former Loose Women colleagues and famous friends soon paid their respects, as Ruth Langsford penned in the comments: “What wonderful memories you will always have of her Lee…hold them close.
