The face of another villager, Dibambou Ringkangmai, was crushed with stones.Reacting to the killings, the Working Committee of the Joint Tribes Council-Manipur (WC-JTC) set a 48-hour deadline for the Centre and the Manipur government to recover Ajinbou’s missing head and hand it over to the family for a dignified burial. The Liangmai (Naga) Students’ Union said the security forces found the severed head from an unspecified area of Kangpokpi district around 1.30 a.m. on Thursday. The post-mortem examination began around 11 a.m.“The funerals of Ajinbou and Dibambou will be held at their native village on Friday. The funerals of the other two persons have already been conducted,” Mathiuchunbou Rimai, president of the students’ union, said. The WC-JCT, however, has decided to continue its agitation until three leaders of the armed assailants behind the killings are arrested. The three are Thangboi Kipgen, David Hangsing and Sailen Haokip, leaders of Kuki extremist groups that signed the Suspension of Operations agreement with the Centre in 2008.Meanwhile, a Kuki woman was reportedly killed by unidentified gunmen near the Myanmar border in Kamjong district on Thursday.
