Between five and 10 restaurants are expected to follow during the next 15 to 18 months. As well as serving up its famous toasted rolls, Mason’s also offers side salads, mac and cheese, and English clam chowder, with the full UK menu and pricing yet to be announced. Italian banker Pietro Funaro came across the brand during a trip to the US in 2023 and now works to help the brand expand internationally, with sites in Milan, Florence, and Venice. Funaro explained that the brand keeps price low by collectively purchasing lobster from the same fisherman and negotiating discounts based on volume. The brand set its sights across the Atlantic after noticing a niche in the market for an affordable lobster-roll chain. Mason’s hopes to reach 40 European restaurants over the next five years.
