Aunt of Brit woman found stuffed in suitcase pays tribute to ‘beautiful’ niece & says ‘we can’t believe this happened’

THE aunt of a Brit woman found dead inside a suitcase has paid tribute to her “beautiful” niece and says: “we can’t believe this happened”. Read more about Lisa Ross The dad, a lawyer in Edinburgh, told Greek police he was sent several messages for two weeks after Lisa’s passing from a man now being viewed as the prime suspect. Her aunt, Anne Bangham, has paid a touching tribute to her “beautiful loving” niece. She wrote: “We just can’t believe it she was such a beautiful loving and kind young lady. I wish I could get my hands on whoever did it. She had not long arrived there to work. I will always remember you for your beautiful smile, warmth, care and kindness you showed to everyone.” Lisa is believed to have travelled to Greece from the US for work via her hometown of Edinburgh. She was reportedly staying at a friend’s house in Attica for several weeks before she was last seen on July 15. Cops are desperate to uncover what happened to Elisabeth during the three days she is unaccounted for. The homeless man who found her has insisted that the suitcase was not in the derelict building on July 16 and July 17. His testimony has led police to believe her body was taken to the building on the evening of July 17 or the following morning. They are now combing the area for security cameras that might have captured the suitcase dump. Local hotels and residences are also being examined, with police speculating that the body was likely taken to the building from close quarters. Police spokesperson Konstantia Dimoglidou told The Sun: “The key to this case is to find out what happened to the woman during those three days as we don’t know anything about her moves on the 15th, 16th and 17th. “The main focus is to find her cause of death as the medical examiner did not find any signs of struggle or injury on her body. “We are waiting for the toxicology reports to shed some light in the next few days. “We cannot be talking about a murder if we don’t know what happened to her – maybe she died and someone tried to hide her body, anything is possible and at this point it’s too soon to tell. “As part of the investigation we are also checking CCTV from the area where she was found and we are working to trace her phone.” The exact date she died is still unknown, but the toxicology tests will help determine if foul play was involved. A spokesperson for Greek police said: “No other evidence has emerged from the body or the suitcase that would allow us to identify another person. “We are awaiting the result of toxicology tests to determine the cause of death, and ascertain whether foul play was involved. “The investigation is ongoing.” First Minister John Swinney said Ross’s family would be supported by the Scottish government and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. He said: “This is an absolutely appalling case that has been reported overnight. “And obviously I’m deeply concerned that such a tragedy has taken place.” Comment now
