Auburn transfer RHP Justice De Jong commits to NC State

NC State’s roster bolstering continues through the transfer portal. The Wolfpack’s latest addition? Auburn right-handed pitcher Justice De Jong. De Jong, a rising sophomore with four years of eligibility remaining, turned in a 10.14 ERA in 5.1 innings across six appearances this past spring. He struck out five while he walked one batter in his debut campaign. The New York, N.Y., native was a blue-chip recruit in the 2025 cycle, ranking as the No. 98 overall prospect in the nation out of Brooklyn (N.Y.) Poly Prep Country Day. He was the No. 4 player in the state, while he ranked as the No. 2 righty to emerge from its borders. De Jong, who logged a 0.42 ERA in 42.9 innings as a senior in high school, was also rated by MLB.com as the No. 213 overall prospect in the 2025 MLB Draft. NC State now boasts 11 transfer portal commitments with De Jong in the fold. He joins second baseman Hunter Warren(Wright State), catcher Andrew Raymond(Mississippi State), outfielder Maddox Monsour (Texas), right-handed pitchers Connor Chicoli (South Carolina), and left-handed pitchers Chet Lax (Wright State), McCall Biemiller(Florida) and Jesse Gutierrez (San Jose State).
