At least three seriously injured in Kiryat Gat Intel factory explosion

OCTOBER 14, 2026 14:41Updated: OCTOBER 14, 2026 15:44Several people were injured after an explosion occured in an Intel factory in Kiryat Gat on Wednesday, Magen David Adom confirmed.At least three people were seriously injured, MDA said.The Israel Fire and Rescue Authority initially noted that hazardous chemicals may have leaked as a result of the explosion, and that it worked to locate the source of the chemicals and extinguish the ensuing fire.Israel Police said that the explosion was suspected to have been caused by the detonation of a gas cylinder.IFRA said the incident involved nitrogen trifluoride (NF3), a non-flammable gas with oxidizing properties.An explosion at an Intel superconductor chip factory in Kiryat Gat, October 14, 2026.
