Suzuki, 23, featured at the World Cup before Japan’s last-32 exit and he decided to pull out of the move at the eleventh hour. The change of heart has given Villa a chance to pounce as final preparations are made for the new Premier League season. And the attempted swoop has come after Juventus revived their interest in Martinez. The shot-stopper, who played a key role in Villa winning the Europa League last term, has been a target for the Italian side all summer.
