Released back in 2023, Assassin's Creed Mirage is a back-to-basics alternative for any fans out there who just aren't into the RPG-focused games like Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Shadows. Now, Ubisoft has released a brand-new interactive experience based on the Assassin's Creed Mirage: Valley Of Memory DLC, and it's completely free to download across multiple platforms. Incredibly, it's already nearly been a year since the game's expansion was released, but you can celebrate early with Assassin's Creed: AlUla. AlUla was, of course, the new explorable area introduced in the DLC and based on the real-life location of the same name. Fans can now explore this area in a brand-new way. The Discovery Tour App: AlUla is an interactive experience based on Assassin's Creed: Mirage that's full of minigames, with the entire project being designed to teach you a thing or two. According to Ubisoft, it is a "gamified, mission-based journey that takes approximately 90 minutes to complete." As you play, you'll learn about the history of AlUla. There are currently a few ways to play this new release: Download Discovery Tour App: AlUla via browser Download Discovery Tour App: AlUla via iOS Download Discovery Tour App: AlUla via Android The AlUla app also brings back Roshan, who mentored Basim in Assassin's Creed Mirage. She's back doing the same thing here, helping guide players through the world with various tips. You'll also be able to use Eagle Vision to track down hidden collectibles throughout the region. Again, your reward is learning. In our review of Assassin's Creed Mirage, we called it a "triumphant homage" to the past. "Mirage is a refreshing return to what Assassin’s Creed used to be, and consequentially a glimpse into what has been lost by the series being waylaid into vast, open-world adventures. In a sense, it feels like a victory lap – revisiting the main character cutting off a ring finger as part of their initiation, searching for the rooftop entrance to a Hidden Ones bureau, and pulling guards into a number of hiding spots to assassinate them incognito are all giddily familiar." While we'll be waiting a little while for the next mainline game, Assassin's Creed Hexe, players can look forward to the Assassin's Creed: Animus tabletop game next month. Created by Mantic Games, this upcoming board game combines the history of the beloved Ubisoft franchise with a true TTRPG experience by offering 1-4 players the chance to "step into the shadows as legendary Assassins. Explore the past, strike down targets, and race to make your mark on history." Fan-favorites like Bayek, Ezio, and Kassandra are all set to appear, making it one of the biggest crossover events in Assassin's Creed history. For now, however, you can jump into AlUla and learn a little bit more about this particular era.
