Asda launches new £4 lunch deal — including items from the rotisserie chicken counter

Asda has a new hot meal deal for breakfast and lunch (Picture: In Pictures via Getty Images) From Tesco to Sainsbury’s, pretty much every supermarket has a meal deal offering these days. But not many of these offers include hot food, such as pizza or chicken drumsticks. That’s changing at Asda, though, as the retailer has just unveiled a brand new Hot Food To Go Meal Deal. Here’s everything you need to know about it… What’s included in Asda’s new hot meal deal? The deal can be found on the rotisserie chicken counter (Picture: Asda) The Hot Food To Go Meal Deal includes a main, side, and a dip for £4 and it can be purchased for breakfast or lunch. The breakfast selection features a Sausage Bap (£2) or a Sausage & Bacon Bap (£2.90), while for lunch there are items such as Chicago Town Cheese Pizza Slices (£1.48) and Hot & Spicy Mini Fillets (£2.50). Sides include Hash Browns (£2) and Skin On Fries (£2), which can be paired with Buffalo Sauce, Garlic & Herb dip, or Piri Piri (all 50p each). Several rotisserie counter items are also available as mains in the deal, such as Asda’s Chinese Chicken Drumsticks (£3.60) and Piri Thighs (£3.60). One thing to note is that The Half Chicken (£4.12) and Tasty Chicken (£6.98) aren’t offered as part of the deal, but will remain alongside it. These will be priced individually, so make sure you double check the labels before you buy, so you aren’t caught out. Full list of products included in the deal... Unlike traditional supermarket meal deals, the £4 price doesn’t include a drink, so you’ll have to purchase this separately. But the price is pretty average, with most deals costing between £3.50 and £4.50 these days, depending where you shop and whether you have a membership card. Asda’s regular meal deal (main, snack, and drink) is £3.74, and the premium option costs £5 (this includes sushi, focaccia, and premium salads). Meanwhile, Tesco’s is £3.85 with a Clubcard, or £4.25 without one, while their premium deal is £5.50 with a Clubcard and £6 without. And over at Sainsbury’s, the standard deal is £3.95, but the retailer also has a premium £5 option too. Morrisons’s deal is pretty cheap at £3.50 with a More Card, or £4 without one, and Boots is also decently priced, costing £3.60 for Advantage Card holders, or £3.99 for non-members.
