As ‘Spider-Man’ joins ‘The Odyssey’ in Imax, are premium movie screens worth the extra price?

With "Spider-Man" now joining "The Odyssey" in Imax theaters, the debate over whether premium movie screenings justify the higher ticket price has intensified. While some critics view these special formats as mere marketing tricks, others are making significant efforts, including traveling long distances, to experience the enhanced visual and audio quality. This surge in interest suggests that audiences are increasingly valuing the immersive experience that premium formats offer, signaling a potential shift in how films are presented and consumed.
