As Morgan Rogers calls Chelsea ‘biggest team in London’ SunSport argue whether Blues or Arsenal are really capital kings

MORGAN ROGERS completed his record £117million transfer to Chelsea and immediately said he had joined the “biggest club in London”. That’s no small claim, given rivals Arsenal won the league in May while the Blues finished down in tenth. So which club is REALLY the “biggest in London”? Sign up for the Arsenal newsletter Thank you! SunSport’s Arsenal reporter (and Gooner) Simon Collings has gone toe-to-toe with SunSport’s Chelsea reporter (and diehard Blue) Lloyd Canfield to argue their case… ARSENAL By Simon Collings Morgan Rogers has ruffled a few feathers with the suggestion that he’s joined the biggest club in London. But as you can tell from what’s behind me I’m going to have to respectfully disagree with him. SunSport’s Simon Collings believes Arsenal are the dominant force after winning the title Credit: Getty Arsenal are unbeaten against Chelsea in their last 11 games and have not lost since 2021 Credit: Getty The easiest thing for me to make my argument as to why Arsenal right now are the biggest club in London… just take a look at the Premier League table from last season. Take a look at who are the champions. Yes, that’s right. It’s Arsenal.Rodgers can talk all about joining the biggest club in London, but the fact is he’s joined a side that finished 10th last season. Most read in Sport BEST ONLINE CASINOS – TOP SITES IN THE UK And Chelsea fans, well, they might like to point towards history and European Cups and trophies, but there’s only one team that’s gone a whole Premier League season unbeaten and that is Arsenal. CHELSEA By Lloyd Canfield So a shock… my colleague Simon Collings and a bunch of Arsenal fans seem to think that Morgan Rogers is wrong and Chelsea are not the biggest club in London. Well, I know for a fact it’s not Arsenal. It’s not no ‘European Trophies Arsenal’. I know that’s right. How about put your European trophies on the table? Yeah, put your world champions trophies on the table. How about that? But Lloyd Canfield has pointed to Chelsea’s impressive European trophy collection Credit: Getty But Chelsea have got so much history in class and so many Premier League trophies and FA Cups… Get a grip. You should be arguing with Spurs. You shouldn’t be arguing with me. You should be arguing with Tom Barclay our Spurs reporter because they’ve got more European trophies than you. We’ve got more European trophies than you. West Ham have got more European trophies than you… You can’t even say ‘well, we haven’t won them because we’re not in the Europa League.’ When you were in the Europa League you bottled it to us. Even though Arsenal won the Premier League they’re not signing the calibre of players that Premier League champions who are going to go on and do it again are signing. Chelsea took Morgan Rogers. Spurs have got Sandro Tonali. They nearly got relegated. Every other team seems to be having a better window than Arsenal. Arsenal haven’t made a marquee signing this summer after their Champions League heartache Credit: Getty If you’re going to claim you’re the biggest club in London, you better step up and start acting like it because right now that’s not what I’m seeing. Let’s talk next season. I know Chelsea finished 10th. I’m aware of that. But this isn’t based on one season. Don’t start acting up after one good season where you won the league because we’ve been there we’ve done that. Realistically, the only argument Arsenal could make is maybe having more global fans or maybe more fans in London. But either way if we’re talking about global fan base in the modern day, Arsenal have got 11 million fewer Instagram followers than Chelsea. To give you some credit, 25 years ago you almost definitely would have won that argument, but now we’re not living in those times anymore. Times have changed. Chelsea are, in fact, the biggest club in London, so… sorry, Simon. Comment now
