The others are in various stages of resolution. In the second session on October 5, around 200 petitions were received. They will be sent to jurisdictional officers with clear instructions, and resolved as soon as possible,” he said.“I have issued directions to expedite the review and resolution of the remaining applications through the departments concerned.”Mr. Roshan said most of the grievances were about the Forest Department, Public Works Department, Revenue Department, and matters related to the allocation of cremation grounds and school building construction. “The grievances submitted by people would be examined on a priority basis and necessary steps would be taken to resolve them quickly in accordance with the rules,” he said.Minister tells officials to solve problems promptlyPWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi said the government of Karnataka had set up a new department of public grievance and started the Praja Seva Andolana in campaign mode with the aim of resolving people’s problems at the local level. “Officials must take prompt action to address public grievances without any delay. Whatever can be resolved at the local level should be done so. There is no need to refer all files to your senior officers if it can be easily resolved at your level,” he said.“The campaign provides an opportunity for people to bring their issues directly to the attention of officials and elected representatives. We want to bring government services to the people’s doorsteps. Officials should not only work towards responding to public grievances but also to enhance transparency in administration. As far as possible, we should try to provide on-the-spot solutions to the problems of the people.
