I like to feel it surrender to my hands.” When making her stuffing, Nigella could not resist telling all those watching millions: “I do like my sausage mixture to be so thoroughly jammed into the casing.” Tossing her spiced cauliflower and chickpea salad, Nigella suggestively insisted: “I love having an implement in each hand.” As she whipped up the meringue for a pavlova, Nigella declared: “I want a swirling mound.” On creating a “chocolate bomb” dessert, the cookery queen purred: “There is an almost sinful pleasure in taking a hot spoon and plunging it straight into the middle.” Nigella was so proud of her Eton Mess dessert, that she told viewers: “I adore the way it comes bulging up over the rims.” Admiring her mince pies, Nigella announced some- what seductively: “These are my guiltless pleasures, they really are bulging.” Describing some sweet doughnut-style “Sambuca Kisses”, she said: “They are the lightest and most fluttering caresses in the mouth.” Assembling a five-tier trifle, Nigella told us: “Do not be shy with the cream. Let it drip slowly down the sides until everything’s thoroughly coated and glistening.” Over the moon with her marmalade pudding, she drooled: “Ah, look at these gorgeous golden globules.” And cooking a show-stopping Christmas ham, Nigella’s method called for plenty of honey, with the host saying: “Don’t be timid with the glaze.
