Arshad Warsi's Asur 3 to begin shoot in September; new cast joins. Report

The crime-thriller series Asur 3, featuring actors Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti, is set to go on floors in September this year, according to reports. The new season is also expected to feature a major shift behind the scenes, with creator Gaurav Shukla likely stepping in as director and a new actor joining the cast.Asur 3 has been locked and the team is preparing to begin filming in September, as reported by Pinkvilla. The report added that Gaurav Shukla, who earlier served as the show's creator, will take over the director's chair for the upcoming season.Asur, featuring Arshad Warsi as Dhananjay Rajpoot and Barun Sobti as Nikhil Nair, began in 2020 and went on to become one of the most talked-about web series in the streaming space. After the second season was released in 2023, Arshad had confirmed last year that a third season was in the works.Oni Sen had directed the first two seasons of the series. Quoting a source, the report said, "Shweta Basu Prasad is joining the cast, and Gaurav Shukla will take over the director’s chair this season." According to the report, Gaurav is also set to produce the new season in addition to directing it, after having written the first two parts. The first season of Asur was released on Voot, while the second streamed on JioCinema. Earlier, in an interview with Mid-Day, Arshad mentioned that the team was working out dates for the shoot and confirmed that the show was his next project. "I am yet to read the script, but verbally we know that it’s happening," he said.On the work front, the actor was last seen in Dhamaal 4 with Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Jaaved Jaaferi, Sanjay Mishra and others.Arshad will next be seen in Golmaal 5 with actors Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Sharman Joshi, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor and others.
