Borussia Dortmund are aware of the situation and tracking Nwaneri in case the decision is made for him to leave this summer. That has not been determined yet and the midfielder should get minutes in pre-season to impress Mikel Arteta. The Gunners have their first friendly on Saturday when they will take on Girona in Spain. Nwaneri is likely to start the match given Eze and Odegaard are not in training, with fellow midfielders Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino also still on holiday after the World Cup. Dortmund have a history of developing young English talent and can point to Jude Bellingham’s rise as a prime example. Arsenal want to add to their squad this summer after winning the Premier League last season, but are conscious of the need to make sales. Nwaneri is expected to attract plenty of interest if he is on the market – from both Prem sides and those in Europe.
