Arsenal ‘plot ANOTHER raid on Dortmund for chief scout with ace behind Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham transfers’

ARSENAL are hoping to poach Borussia Dortmund’s chief scout Sebastian Krug, according to reports. The 43-year-old is highly rated after his impressive work snapping up players like Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho at a young age. And now they are eyeing up Krug in the hopes he can replicate his portfolio of top deals, according to Sky in Germany. Talks are said to have already taken place between Arsenal and Krug over a possible move. And it’s claimed there is a “growing sense” that Krug may be headed towards the next step in his career. German outlet Bild claim officials at Signal Iduna Park are “relaxed” about the situation and are yet to be “officially informed” about an approach. It goes on to say Arsenal would have to make an “exorbitant” offer to Dortmund for the club’s top brass to consider his exit. The German club “wont let him go without a fight”, the report claims, saying he is “simply too important”. Most recently he was responsible for bringing Jobe Bellingham to the club from Sunderland, as well as Jamie Gittens. Arsenal currently have Andrea Berta as sporting director with Maurizio Micheli as chief scout. It’s unclear how Krug would work with Berta and Micheli if he was appointed by the Gunners. Micheli – who was instrumental in bringing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Napoli – has been part of the scouting team that picked out stars like Christos Tzolis this summer. Berta, meanwhile, has been mostly well received for his signings after securing the likes of Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres, Cristhian Mosquera, Eberechi Eze and Bruno Guimaraes. But some fans might have concerns over Krug after their move for Mislintat didn’t go to plan. He brought in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund, with the former leaving on a free transfer. Mislintat also signed transfer misfires in Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi, Bernd Leno and Sokratis before leaving in 2019. He later returned to Dortmund in 2024 after a stint with Stuttgart but was sacked the following year. Comment now
