At the front, the SUV gets slim LED daytime running lights extending horizontally from the centrally positioned MG badge. The main headlamps sit lower down at the outer edges of the bumper, while the closed-off upper section and large lower air intake distinguish it as an EV.The SUV seen in Pune was finished in a light green shade with a contrasting black roof and dark detailing. The profile features large alloy wheels, roof rails, conventional door handles and chunky black cladding around the wheel arches and lower sections of the doors. The long wheelbase and extended rear overhang are clearly visible from the side, with the large glasshouse and sizeable D-pillar helping create the proportions expected of a three-row SUV. A partial view of the rear also reveals a slim tail-lamp design extending horizontally towards the sides.MG Hector Tomahawk based on Wuling modelThe Hector Tomahawk is expected to be based on the Wuling Starlight 560, with changes made for the Indian market. The global model has a claimed CLTC range of up to 530km.The India-spec Hector Tomahawk EV could use a similar setup, although its final specifications and certified range are likely to be announced at the launch. The ADAPT architecture is also designed to support multiple powertrain types, and a plug-in hybrid version is expected to follow the EV at a later stage.MG Hector Tomahawk EV expected price and rivalsThe Hector Tomahawk EV is expected to be positioned above the Hector in MG’s India line-up, with an estimated price range of Rs 20 lakh-25 lakh (ex-showroom).Once launched, it will enter the growing three-row electric SUV segment and is expected to compete with models such as the Mahindra XEV 9S and Kia Carens Clavis EV.Subscribe to Auto Today Magazine - EndsPublished On: Aug 17, 2026 12:54 IST
