Architect struck off after calling neighbour racist for cheering on England is 'malicious and vindictive' and 'made things up', victims say

An architect banned from working for two years after calling her neighbour a racist for supporting England is 'malicious and vindictive', according to one of her victims. Dr Karin Elliott's allegations were branded 'ridiculous' by a neighbour who was accused of 'gender-based violence' because of the way he drove his vehicle.Retired tree surgeon Steve Davis was accused of making a deliberately 'phallic' gesture by leaving his white Nissan Navara truck on the driveway he shared with Dr Elliott in Norwich.Along with accusing another neighbour of racism for cheering on England's sports teams, Dr Elliott also claimed that a neighbour's garden wall was a politically motivated stunt in a campaign of abuse between December 2023 and early 2024. Elliott's false claims saw her barred from working as an architect when the Architects Registration Board ruled they amounted to misconduct. Responding to their recent decision, Mr Davis told the Daily Mail: 'This is not even a neighbours' dispute, it is an architect carrying on some sort of personal vendetta for reasons known only to herself and her partner.'Her false allegations just were not true. I think she was vindictive and malicious. Her suggestion that my vehicle was phallic was ridiculous.'The story is about three sets of neighbours being falsely and publicly accused by Ms Elliott of racism, sexual and physical harassment and violence, theft, malicious damage and abuse of power. None of these accusations were true.' Dr Karin Elliott was called 'malicious and vindictive' for making false claims about neighboursDr Elliott, who prided herself on her American-Irish ancestry, along with her French lover Francois Girardin, alleged a neighbour's garden wall was built to coincide with American President Donald Trump erecting a wall to keep immigrants out of the US.Mr Girardin also complained that whenever England played sport, a neighbour would 'leave their doors open, and – especially when England played France – their family would cheer for England'.Mr Davis added: 'We had a skip on our land during building work on our house which meant I could not use our normal parking spaces.'I thought it would be OK to park in the shared area for that period as she had done so herself. Her suggestion that my vehicle was phallic was ridiculous.'At the tribunal during cross-examination, Ms Elliott said from 'a psychoanalytic perspective' her neighbour's car could be seen as a 'phallic symbol' and a manifestation of gender violence. The tribunal found this 'underscored how tenuously she constructed serious accusations against other people, and how casually she dispensed them'.The architect had made a planning application for the installation of CCTV cameras on her property in December 2023 following disputes with her neighbours. She wrote a letter to local residents in February 2024 asking for support for her application and made serious allegations about her neighbours that the tribunal considered to be 'dishonest' and 'misleading'.In the letter to residents, she claimed one neighbour had 'smashed down several of our historic walls, chopped down many of our historic trees, and built on our property, all without our consent'.Discussing another neighbour, Ms Elliott wrote: 'He calls us either a "piece of s***", "disgusting" and/or exclaims "the stench" regularly.'In another allegation, the architect wrote: 'He threatened to hit one of us over the head with a hammer at one stage, after he was asked to desist.'He had been starting to build a wall on our property illegally on a Sunday, following Trump's declaration that he would "Build a big wall" to keep out immigrants.'It is very upsetting. We are Irish/American and French.'Mr Davis said he and two other neighbours had given evidence at the tribunal which held four weeks of hearings over 14 months before coming to its conclusion. The tribunal found Ms Elliott's conduct occurred after she had previously been found guilty of unacceptable professional conduct in 2021 for calling neighbours 'racists and Nazis' as well as 'making offensive references to their physical characteristics and mental health'. Elliott's home in Norwich, Norfolk where she falsely said her neighbours were racist and sexistMr Davis added: 'We thought that after the gas chamber and Nazi stuff, things would die down, but they didn't.'Another neighbour who was only identified as C at the tribunal hearing said he was pleased the ordeal was over. He said: 'We welcome with relief the outcome of the independent ARB investigation in the unprofessional conduct of Ms Elliott. 'The ARB pointed to an ongoing "vendetta" by Ms Elliott and we would point anyone to read the findings to fully understand what we have all endured. 'We hope this outcome will make her stop these libellous accusations and allow us to move on.' Dr Elliott refused to comment last night at her Gothic-style home when she was approached.
