This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available. The fate of Apple TV's Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed has been decided. On X, Stephen King previously praised the crime thriller series, writing that it's "even better" than Apple TV's hit horror-comedy show Widow's Bay and that "It's like Hitchcock came back to do it one more time. And Tatiana Maslany is so good. The play of emotions on her face is pretty incredible. She goes from comic to terror in an instant." The season 1 finale was released on July 15, leaving viewers uncertain for three months about whether the story would be continued. Apple TV has now announced that Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed will return for season 2. Check out a statement about the renewal from creator and showrunner David J. Rosen below: "We are delighted to continue the story of MPG and deeply grateful to Apple and our incredible cast and crew. This is all pretty amazing for a show whose title came from a spam email." Maslany plays Paula Sanders, a mother balancing a custody battle, a divorce, her fact-checking job, and an identity crisis, all of which become more complicated after being the sole witness of a crime. She launches her own search for the truth, only to discover that what she saw is part of a much more intricate and sinister conspiracy. The cast also features Jake Johnson as Paula's ex-husband Karl, Mallory Hodges as Karl's new wife Mallory, Kiarra Hamagami Goldberg as Paula's co-worker Geri, Charlie Hall as Paula's co-worker Rudy, Nola Wallace as Paula and Karl's daughter Hazel, Dolly de Leon as NYPD Detective Gonzalez, Jon Michael Hill as NYPD Detective Baxter, Brandon Flynn as webcam model Trevor, and Murray Bartlett as Trevor's boyfriend Dennis. With a "Certified Fresh" 93% critics' score based on 61 reviews and an 84% audience score based on more than 250 ratings, King is not the only one impressed by the series. The critics' consensus declares that "Tatiana Maslany boldly leads this twistedly thrilling whodunit, serving as a fascinating exploration of the unexpected through compelling storytelling, diverting escapades, and the undeniable assurance of Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed."
