So, if your iPhone X develops a hardware problem, you will no longer be able to rely on Apple for an official repair. Apple generally considers a product obsolete more than seven years after it stops distributing the device for sale. Before that, products can be classified as "vintage" once more than five years have passed since they were discontinued.A vintage product may still be eligible for limited repairs, depending on whether replacement parts are available.
