Apoorva Mukhija breaks silence on viral kiss video, recalls crying at Heathrow

In her latest vlog, the influencer recalled the moment she found out that the intimate video had surfaced online and said she broke down at London’s Heathrow Airport after being flooded with messages about it.Apoorva said she and Amin had no idea they were being recorded at the party. “One of my videos from a year ago has gotten leaked. So this video was like a private moment between me and another guy. And we did not know that we were being recorded. This was at a private party,” she said.She stressed that the video was not recent and had surfaced online months after it was recorded. “Aur ye video bohot purani hai. 1 saal purani hai aur ab aayi hai baahar (And this video is very old. It’s about a year old and has surfaced now),” Apoorva said.Recalling how she learnt about the video, Apoorva said she was travelling from Turkey to New York and had a layover in London when messages began pouring in. By the time she reached Heathrow Airport, her WhatsApp was flooded with people asking if she had seen the clip. “My entire WhatsApp is filled with messages saying, ‘Did you see this?’” she recalled. The situation became even more difficult when Apoorva realised that her parents had also seen the video. She said they were unaware that she had been in a relationship. “This is the first time my parents saw that video. They did not know I had a boyfriend. They had no clue,” she said.Apoorva recalled feeling overwhelmed by the sudden circulation of what she described as a private moment. “So I have lost my mind,” she said, describing her state at the time.She also remembered sitting at Heathrow Airport, surrounded by people, while struggling to process what had happened. “I remember I sat at Heathrow Airport, and there were, I think, a million people at that airport. Aur main bas neeche baithke roye jaa rahi hoon, roye jaa rahi hoon (And I just sat there and kept crying and crying),” she recalled.Earlier, in September, the YouTuber’s video kissing podcast host-DJ Amin Jaz at a private event had emerged online. The clip showed the two seemingly kissing, and the moment had since sparked a flurry of reactions online. Several social media users had interpreted the clip as a possible “hard launch” of their relationship.The video went viral shortly after Apoorva spoke about travelling from New York to Turkey to meet her boyfriend.Meanwhile, Apoorva has moved to New York to pursue her master’s at NYU Stern.For the unversed, she was among the panellists on an episode of India’s Got Latent in February 2025, which came under fire after Ranveer Allahbadia made controversial remarks about parents and sex. She faced criticism for confronting a contestant during the episode, while multiple FIRs were later filed in connection with the controversy. Apoorva subsequently said she had received death and rape threats following the backlash.More recently, Apoorva appeared on Lock Upp as an informant. Her stint on the show lasted around two weeks, and she exited before the finale, which was eventually won by influencer and YouTuber Shreya Kalra.- Ends
