Aphex Twin Announces 25th Anniversary Reissue of Drukqs

Aphex Twin has announced a 25th anniversary reissue of his 2001 album Drukqs, arriving October 30th via Warp Records. The reissue marks the first time in years that Drukqs will be widely available across physical formats, with new editions arriving on vinyl, CD, and cassette. With the project back in circulation, Aphex Twin’s entire album catalog will once again be available on vinyl. Buy Drukqs 25th Anniversary Reissue Originally released in October 2001, Drukqs was Richard D. James’ fifth studio album as Aphex Twin and his first full-length since 1996’s Richard D. James Album. Spanning 30 tracks, the double album moved between hyper-detailed electronic compositions and sparse, calming pieces centered on piano, including “Avril 14th,” which has become one of James’ best-known tracks. The 25th anniversary edition will be available as a standard 4xLP set on black vinyl, a 2xCD edition with an eight-page booklet, and a double-cassette edition. Warp is also offering a direct-to-consumer 4xLP box set featuring a six-panel poster and AFX logo stencil. Pre-orders for the box set will remain open through August 4th. The Drukqs reissue continues Aphex Twin’s recent stretch of archival activity. In 2024, he released Music from the Merch Desk (2016–2023), a 38-track compilation collecting music previously sold as limited-edition vinyl at his live shows, and celebrated Selected Ambient Works Volume II with an expanded anniversary reissue. More recently, he resurfaced with two previously unreleased versions of “Zahl am1 live track,” shared through his longtime SoundCloud account.
