Anti-trans workplace discrimination
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — An Alabama medical clinic specializing in treating federal workers could not shake a federal sex discrimination complaint brought by a physical therapist who came out as a transgender woman on the job. A few days later, she was met by the co-owner of the clinic who allegedly informed her she was immediately fired for “bringing morale down.” An inference of discrimination can be inferred because of how soon her employer fired her after learning of her transgender identity.
