Anthropologie Daily Practice Review: I Tested the Brand’s New Loungewear Label

4 min readWhen I think of Anthropologie, I think of its versatile wardrobe staples like denim, office-appropriate blouses, and midi-length dresses. But the brand offers so much more, from home goods and furniture to wedding collections and statement accessories; I’ve bought a smattering of SKUs from Anthropologie over the years. However, I was only recently introduced to its newest label, Daily Practice, which launched in summer 2024. The laid-back loungewear line combines style, comfort, and versatility for busy women who do it all. What Is Daily Practice?Daily Practice is Anthropologie’s loungewear label, offering styles for everything from downtime to playtime to working at home. It’s less “activewear” and more “cozy athleisure” meant to multitask in our everyday lives. Think: sherpa fleeces, sweats, puffer jackets, casual tees, and stretchy dresses.Shop Daily Practice at AnthropologieHow I TestedAhead of Daily Practice’s latest collection, Anthropologie reached out to Women’s Health to try some pieces from the launch. Over the past two weeks, I tested four styles: a fleece quarter-zip, balloon-style joggers, a mock neck pullover sweater, and straight-leg sweatpants. Since New York is having transitional fall weather, I wore each piece on its own and layered with base layers like T-shirts and long sleeves. I also wore some styles while working from home, at the movie theater, and spectating at the New York City Marathon.ProsFun colorsSuper soft, warm, and versatileGreat for transitional weatherTall funnel neckConsPockets are a little high on the torsoSizesXXS—XLColorsTurquoise, Taupe, Light YellowMaterial100% polyester fleeceOf everything in the new collection, I was most excited to try this quarter-zip sherpa jacket. A fleece is one of the best layers to have in your fall and winter wardrobe. On warmer days, I wore it with just a T-shirt underneath, but as the weather gets colder, I plan to layer it with turtlenecks and wool base layers. The High Altitude Sherpa is super soft, easy to layer under, and versatile thanks to the side vents, front pockets, and tall funnel neck. I love that the neck zips up to my chin, so I can cozy up on cold days. The block print pattern stands out in all three colorways, but I especially love the turquoise one for a bright pop of color and the orange contrast stitching. I opted for size small for a relaxed, boxy fit, and it fits true to size.Shopping editor Sidney Lee wearing the Daily Practice High Altitude Sherpa Fleece Jacket in size small.ProsDrawstring waistLightweight and easy to move inBaggy, comfortable fitSizesXXS—XLColorsPurple HazeMaterial95% cotton, 5% spandexThese laid-back pants look just as good styled with ballet flats and a cardigan as they do lounging on my couch. The lightweight, breathable cotton material has just enough spandex to make the joggers feel buttery smooth against the skin. Note: The pants are fairly thin, so they’re not suitable for freezing temps, but since they’re baggy, you can easily layer leggings or thermal underwear underneath.I prefer the Ease State Pants when I’m working from home and don’t want to feel like I’m sitting in sweats all day. They’re also great for light movement like yoga, walking, or running errands. I’d suggest taking your normal size in these pants for that balloon-leg look—the drawstring waist will ensure a perfect fit.Shopping editor Sidney Lee wearing the Daily Practice Ease State Pants in size small.ProsRibbed mock neckEasy to layerSoft and stretchyConsRuns large, size down for a slimmer fitSizesXXS—XLColorsBrown, Neutral, BlueMaterial80% cotton, 20% polyesterDesigned with a relaxed silhouette and a ribbed mock neck, this cotton-blend knit pullover feels like a sweatshirt but looks much more put together. I love the dropped shoulders for an easygoing look you can dress up or down. Contrasting ribbed trim along the sleeves and cuffs adds style and stretch. This style definitely runs large (I ordered a size small), and I found excessive fabric around the bottom of the torso that didn’t drape the way I wanted. However, as a tall person with long arms, I appreciate the sleeve length. The mock neck is also comfortable to wear all day without itching or feeling tight.Shopping editor Sidney Lee wearing the Daily Practice Cotton Blend Mock Neck Pullover Top in size small.ProsFour pocketsElevated sweatpant styleMedium-weight, warm materialConsNo drawstringRuns large, size downSizesXXS—XLColorsGrey, Chocolate, Navy, OliveMaterial60% cotton, 37% polyester, 3% spandexIn theory, I love these pants so much. They’re the perfect mix of sweatpants and trousers, and the material feels like a blend of track pants and cotton-fleece sweats. The straight-leg silhouette and front darts create a more tailored look with hidden pockets concealed in the dart seam. Two large back pockets also fit your phone and wallet. My only complaint is that the waist runs very large. I wish there was a drawstring or more elastic in the waistband because they’re too large to stay up on my hips. I do like the low-rise style, which offers a more trendy look that’s great for layering, but I would size down next time. For now, I haven’t worn them out of the house since they’re too big, but they’ll be great for layering over bike shorts or thermal leggings this winter.Shopping editor Sidney Lee wearing the Daily Practice Daybreak Pants in size small.Final ThoughtsDaily Practice knows its audience: working women, multi-tasking moms, stylish consumers who care about looking cute and feeling comfy. If this sounds like you, the new collection is definitely worth checking out. The label has a great range of elevated basics, loungewear, and layerable outerwear right now. While the price points are steeper than some other loungewear brands, I found that the designs have more thought and intention behind them than your typical “leggings and a sports bra” outfitter. The cute silhouettes, colors, and details make Daily Practice’s pieces feel fashionable.Whether I’m at home watching a movie or on the go, I know I’ll reach for these versatile pieces a lot over the next couple of months. Similar to Anthropologie’s other in-house labels, Daily Practice runs large. So if you’re between sizes, I would recommend sizing down.Shop Daily Practice at AnthropologieSidney Lee is a shopping editor at Hearst Magazines, covering fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and more for Women’s Health, Prevention, and Oprah Daily.
