Anthropic is bringing a long-overdue upgrade to voice mode in Claude today. The upgraded Claude voice mode has new capabilities and works with Opus and Sonnet models for the first time. Claude voice mode now works with Opus and Sonnet models Before today, Claude voice mode only ran on Anthropic’s Haiku model, which favors instant results over deeper thought. This means Claude users who pay for more capable models can now benefit from those when using voice mode. Expanding voice mode to Anthropic’s Claude Opus and Claude Sonnet models brings voice mode capabilities in line with Claude’s text-based intelligence. The company says users can now switch models during voice mode as well. Voice mode can also work with connectors, bridging Claude chat with tools you use. Anthropic says the upgraded Claude voice mode supports these 11 languages: English French German Hindi Indonesian Italian Japanese Korean Portuguese (Brazilian) Spanish (Latin America) Spanish (Spain) Users can even switch between languages when working with Claude voice mode.
