And the England international became only the third player to provide four assists in his first four matches in Spain’s top flight this century. The other two are fellow ex-Premier League stars Cesc Fabregas and Luis Suarez. What makes this record even more special is that all three players achieved it while playing for Barcelona. Gordon‘s arrival ended the Blaugrana’s interest in signing Marcus Rashford on a permanent transfer last summer. Rashford enjoyed a successful loan stint with the Catalan giants last season that saw him amassing a total of 14 goals and 15 assists in 49 appearances. However, Barcelona opted against triggering the versatile forward’s £26m option to buy him from Manchester United. But Rashford has been enjoying sparkling return to United’s squad after another move away never materialised during the summer transfer window. The England international has played in all of Man Utd’s three Premier League matches this season. And the forward has started in two of them as he gears up for a busy season in the Premier League and Champions league.
