Ant Anstead says girlfriend Renee Zellweger is ‘the best human I’ve ever met’

Ant Anstead has said his girlfriend Renee Zellweger is “the best human I’ve ever met”.The TV presenter, 47, has been dating the Oscar-winning actress, 57, since April 2021.Speaking on Jeremy Vine On 5, Anstead said: “Renee is wonderful. We had our five-year anniversary in April.“She’s a wonderful human. The best human I’ve ever met, for a start.“She’s absolutely brilliant. Genius. The kindest human on the planet. She’s into cars and houses.”The broadcaster was promoting his show, Ant Anstead: Born Mechanic, which has returned for series three on Quest.Anstead told how Zellweger was involved in the decision to buy the 500-year-old farmhouse he is restoring as part of the show.He said: “She was there (at the farmhouse) prior to purchasing it, so she had, you know, I obviously take her counsel, and we walked around it and we were like, yeah, this is the house.”Anstead also recalled how the couple met on his US show Celebrity IOU: Joyride, which sees stars give back to people who made a difference in their lives by designing high-end vehicles.Renee Zellweger met Anstead on his US show Celebrity IOU: Joyride (PA)PA ArchiveAnstead said: “We were filming in Los Angeles in the middle of this massive unit, and we had an American convertible, but stick (shift). And not many people drive stick in America.“And we had to move the car but Renee just jumped over the door, got in, stuck it in first, and I’m like, yes… that’s my girl right there.”Prior to his relationship with Zellweger, Anstead was married to Louise Storey from 2005 to 2017, with whom he shares his son Archie, 19.He married US TV personality Christine Haack in 2018. They separated in 2020 and divorced the following year.
