Another Russian ‘drone safari’ attack kills four on public bus as Zelensky slams Putin for ‘targeting civilians’

FOUR people have been killed in Ukraine after a Russian “safari” drone hit a bus of commuters in a senseless attack. The strike in Kherson also wounded five civilians, in a sickening escalation of Vladimir Putin‘s attacks targeting defenceless civilians. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the latest “human safari” attack on Wednesday, during which Russia uses remotely operated drones to hunt down civilians as part of a campaign of terror. “The brutal Russian ‘safari’ against our people in Kherson has long gone beyond anything a normal person can imagine,” he said. In another incident captured on video, a drone appears to toy with a Ukrainian man in Sumy, in the country’s northeast, before it explodes. Most read in The Sun An expert told The Sun that civilians were paying the Kremlin to take part in these twisted “human safaris”, hunting innocent Ukrainians with drones. Zelensky seized on the latest attack in Kherson, in the country’s south, to call on Ukraine‘s allies to ramp up their support for the war-ravaged nation. “This is the reality of everyday life in Ukrainian frontline regions,” he said. “While [Western] partners are hesitant about providing additional supplies of defensive equipment, the Russians have long crossed the line of impunity. “Pressure on the aggressor is needed. Support for those defending lives is needed. “Thank you to everyone who continues to provide assistance and introduce new sanctions against the aggressor.” In a separate attack, two people were killed and ten injured in Zaporizhzhia, in southeastern Ukraine, by Russian strikes. Russian short-range drone attacks have killed 967 civilians since the invasion began in February 2022, according to Ukraine. In Kherson alone, nearly 150 of these deaths were recorded in May, in what the UN described as a deliberate campaign of hunting civilians. Comment now
