A BRITISH card chain has launched a huge closing down sale ahead of shutting a popular branch, with discounts of up to 70% off. The store has slashed the price of cards, ornaments and other knick-knacks as it looks to shift stock before closing for good. News of the closure has hit shoppers hard, with one describing it as “another nail in the coffin” for the high street. “Another one bites the dust,it’s a shame,” another upset local explained. “So sad we’re losing all our towns,” a third chimed in. Locals in the market town have had to wave goodbye to a number of famous brands in recent years, including M&S and New Look. It comes as the brand, which also owns Cardzone and Clintons, has closed a number of branches in the past few months. That includes a branch in Newport in July and a branch in Didcot in January of this year.
