Anne Sweeney Resigns From Netflix Board

Anne Sweeney Getty Images Anne Sweeney has stepped down from Netflix‘s Board of Directors, the company revealed in a July 26 SEC filing. Former Disney Media Networks co-chair Sweeney joined the Netflix board in March 2015, a little over a year after leaving Disney to become a TV director. Over the past 11 years, she had a front-row seat to the streamer’s global rise. Her departure comes amid some bumps for the company, which has been facing Wall Street scrutiny recently over its strategy to maintain growth. Sweeney spent 18 years as a top TV executive at Disney, most recently as co-chair, Disney Media Networks and president, Disney/ABC Television Group.
