Pawan Kalyan, has adopted an Asiatic elephant and a Royal Bengal Tiger at the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park under its Animal Adoption Programme for a period of one year.According to zoo curator G. Mangamma, the adoption was made to mark Ms. Anna Konidala’s birthday on August 1. She contributed ₹4.30 lakh towards the upkeep of the Asiatic elephant and ₹2 lakh for the Royal Bengal Tiger, taking the total contribution to ₹6.30 lakh.“The amount will be utilised for the care, nutrition, environmental enrichment and veterinary treatment of the two animals,” Ms. Mangamma said, and added that the initiative would support wildlife conservation efforts and encourage greater public participation in the zoo’s programme. Donations made under the programme are eligible for tax exemption under Section 80G(5) of the Income Tax Act, 1961, subject to applicable provisions. Published - July 31, 2026 08:27 pm IST
