Published: 14:13 EDT, 2 October 2026 | Updated: 14:40 EDT, 2 October 2026 The man suspected of murdering Ann Widdecombe has been charged with a terror offence against Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.Joshua Kerry, 28, of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, was charged on Friday with one count of preparation of terrorist acts under the Terrorism Act 2006.The charge relates to activity alleged to have taken place between May 31, 2024 and July 8, 2026 and is said to include actions planned against Mr Farage, the MP for Clacton.Reform UK spokeswoman and former Tory minister Ms Widdecombe was found dead at her home in Devon on July 9, 2026. The 78-year-old is said to have been hit over the head with a hammer more than 21 times at the property in Haytor, Dartmoor, a court heard previously. Senior National Coordinator for Counter Terrorism Policing, Deputy Assistant Commissioner Vicki Evans, said: 'We have been running a hugely intensive and complex investigation for some time.
