Android Auto 17.6 update rolling out with redesigned logo [Gallery]

Google is giving Android Auto a very slight refresh in its 17.6 update, with the app’s logo getting a new look that you’ll only see in a couple of locations. In recent weeks, we’ve noticed a new green Android Auto icon showing up intermittently on certain devices, but it seems Google is ready to roll this one out to the wider Android ecosystem. With the Android Auto 17.6 update, a redesigned green icon has made its debut. Artem Russakovskii of APKMirror noted the change, with the APK site also showing that this is the first version that fully moves over to the new look. Everything previously was using the older blue icon style. Old vs New Google also quietly updated the official Android Auto website with this new design, including on a video thumbnail advertising Gemini integration. We can also see the wordmark here, which is also updated from its previous look just a little bit. As far as the end user goes, the new Android Auto icon/logo won’t be visible in most cases. While we’ve noticed the green icon in some notifications, they’re mostly still showing a blue alternate icon. The only place you can consistently see it on Android is in the app switcher if you access Android Auto settings. Notably, the Android Auto settings menu also now has a green accent color to match.
