Andrew’s former Royal Lodge home is up for grabs – but at a big cost

The 30-room mansion on the Windsor estate is officially up for grabs after Andrew moved out in February and relocated to the Sandringham estate in Norfolk. However, anyone hoping to move in will need to pass some strict security checks before coughing up £30 million for the Berkshire property. According to The Times, people will face ‘strict security tests’ before being considered for the home, which Andrew shared with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. They will also need to afford roughly £400,000 a year for upkeep, as the Windsor estate is being offered for lease from October. It comes more than six months after the former Prince and his ex-wife Sarah left the property following Andrew’s association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The pair divorced in 1996 but continued living under the same roof for almost two decades. Andrew moved to Marsh Farm, a property on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, while Sarah has been abroad and only announced plans to return to the UK within the past week. Royal Lodge is owned by the Crown Estate and comes with a swimming pool, several outbuildings and plenty of royal history. The property was also once enjoyed by King George VI and his wife Elizabeth. However, it appears no other member of the Royal Family is rushing to take over the lease. Previously, there was speculation over whether Prince William and Kate Middleton could take over the Royal Lodge. Instead, the couple moved into nearby Forest Lodge, an eight-bedroom mansion which has been described as their ‘forever home’. In October 2025, King Charles stripped Andrew of his royal titles and privileges. He and Sarah were then evicted from the property in February. Just days later, on his 66th birthday, Andrew was arrested at Marsh Farm on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The investigation is ongoing and Andrew has not been charged with a crime.
