The actor is in the midst of a busy year that includes the theatrical releases of The Magic Faraway Tree, The Uprising, and Artificial. The Magic Faraway Tree came to U.S. theaters in August, with a cast that also features Rebecca Ferguson and Claire Foy. This fantasy movie was followed by the action period drama The Uprising in September, and the year will conclude with a limited release of Artificial, which is a biopic of controversial OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. While these are his more recent movies, The Social Network is widely considered to be Andrew Garfield's best of all time. The Academy-Award-winning film features Garfield as Eduardo Saverin, who co-founds Facebook with Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg), only to be excised from the company and the legacy of the social media platform. The movie received eight Oscar nominations, won in three categories, has a 96% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes, and an 87% audience score. 16 years after coming to theaters and making Garfield an international movie star, The Social Network will now be free to watch on Tubi. As one of the many movies coming to Tubi on October 1, The Social Network streams for free on the ad-supported platform, only eight days before The Social Reckoning arrives in theaters on October 9. The upcoming film is a standalone sequel starring Jeremy Strong as Zuckerberg and focused on the story of the 2021 Facebook leak. Aaron Sorkin, who won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for the first movie, returned to write and direct the sequel. Garfield isn't directly involved with The Social Reckoning, nor is Eisenberg or any member of the previous cast. Nevertheless, it is still helpful to watch The Social Network first in order to know the story of Facebook's origins and the journey of Zuckerberg before the events of the 2021 leak. He also moved to Singapore and renounced his U.S. citizenship. Last year, Garfield debunked rumors of his return, saying, "No, no. Eduardo [Saverin] is in Singapore having a good time." He confirmed that he was excited to watch the follow-up film, though. As for his The Social Network co-star, Eisenberg, Sorkin spent three days trying to get him to come back and play an older version of Zuckerberg.
