The Andhra Pradesh government issued official orders (G.O.Ms.No. 119 and G.O.Ms.No. 120), sanctioning two long-pending Dearness Allowance (DA) enhancements for the State government employees, university staff, and local body personnel.The dual revisions will take effect from the September salaries, payable in October 2026. The first government order raises the DA from 37.31% to 40.04% of basic pay (a 2.73% increase), effective retroactively from July 1, 2024.The second order further enhances the rate to 41.86% (an additional 1.82% increase), effective January 1, 2025. Together, the consecutive revisions provide a combined increase of 4.55%.DA arrearsDA arrears spanning 26 months (July 2024 to August 2026) and 20 months (January 2025 to August 2026) will be disbursed in structured installments, starting 2027 and 2028.For Old Pension Scheme (OPS) employees, the arrears will be credited to General Provident Fund (GPF) accounts, while Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) employees will receive funds through PRAN accounts and cash installments.
