An argument over Wi-Fi leads to double murder in Texas

An argument over Wi-Fi led to the murder of a mother and her son in their home in Texas, authorities said. Jeremiah McGee was arrested Friday and charged with capital murder in the October 23 shooting deaths of Maria Davalos, 62, and her son, Ariel Arellano Jr., 32, in their home, a duplex in Lufkin, about 157 miles southeast of Dallas, late last month. “They determined Mr. McGee to be the main suspect and continued to work the information until they had enough to gain a warrant for his arrest and a second search warrant of his home,” Police Chief Travis Brazil said, according to KTRE. Authorities apprehended McGee, 47, at his home on Friday afternoon. They also positively matched the gun used in the homicides with a weapon found at his home. Investigators used the shell casings located at the scene of the crime and compared them to the gun. The ATF’s National Integrated Ballistic Information Network in Houston later confirmed the match, the Lufkin Daily News reported.
