Amy Winehouse tribute event to mark Back To Black’s 20th anniversary

A one-night-only event in London will mark the 20th anniversary of Amy Winehouse’s album Back To Black.The award-winning singer died in July 2011 at the age of 27.Her second and final studio album Back To Black was released in 2006, with the record featuring songs including Rehab, Back To Black and Love Is A Losing Game.She also collaborated with producer Mark Ronson on the album – which sold 20 million copies and became one of the best-selling records of all time and the UK’s second best-selling album of the 21st century.Amy Winehouse released Back To Black in 2006 (Yui Mok/PA)PA ArchiveAt the 2008 Grammys, Black To Black won best pop vocal album and was nominated for album of the year.It was also nominated for British album at the 2007 Brit Awards and was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize the same year.To mark the album’s 20th anniversary, several of the late singer’s close friends and artistic collaborators will reunite on stage.Amy Winehouse Back To Black 20 will be held at the Roundhouse in Camden on Wednesday October 21.It will be led by the album’s producers, Ronson and Salaam Remi, Winehouse’s long-term musical director Dale Davis, producers Paul O’Duffy and p*nut, and Darcus Beese.The concert will feature The Amy Winehouse Band performing Back To Black in full with special guest vocalists, including Baby Rose, Corinne Bailey Rae, FLO, Jessie Reyez, Jorja Smith, Lianne La Havas, Nia Smith, Sasha Keable, Skye Newman, and Yebba, as well p*nut.Ronson said: “I’m honoured to be asked to come celebrate Amy alongside Salaam and some amazing artists worthy of singing her songs. Doing justice to the legacy of Back To Black is the order of the night.”Remi said: “Funny how time flies. I can’t believe it’s been 20 years already.
