Hotel owner Rocky said a few women had checked into the hotel and, some time later, two young men arrived and asked to go to their room.Rocky said he asked the two men to show valid identity proof, including their Aadhaar cards, as required under the hotel's rules. The request led to an argument after the men refused to provide the documents.According to the hotel owner, the situation escalated when the two men returned with five to six others. He said the group attacked him and damaged property inside the hotel, including breaking glass panes. Rocky also said he suffered serious injuries to his head during the assault. He claimed that he was struck with a sharp object or a hard item.The CCTV footage shows the confrontation inside the hotel and is being used by investigators to establish what happened and identify those involved. After the incident, police reached the spot and sent the injured hotel owner for medical treatment. Investigators have taken the hotel's CCTV footage into their possession and are also checking cameras installed in the surrounding area.A police officer from Amritsar's B-Division police station said the allegations of assault and vandalism were being verified. The officer said the CCTV footage was being examined and those found involved in the incident would face action under the law.The hotel owner has demanded the arrest of those responsible for the assault and strict legal action against them.With the hotel located close to the Golden Temple, the incident has also raised concerns about maintaining law and order in the area.
