Orfi clinched the top spot after winning the QTerminals Qatar Classic in a thrilling 3-2 final against compatriot Hania al-Hammamy, raising her total to 2,109 points and dethroning the world standings leader. The reigning World Champion and four-time World Junior Champion survived a tense fifth-game decider to secure the title. Speaking to Al-Ahram, Orfi acknowledged the final’s intensity and emphasized her resolve to hold onto the top ranking as she eyes gold at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. From surprise exits to marathon wins Semifinal runs: Orfi swept America’s Olivia Weaver 3–0 to reach the final, while al-Hammamy outlasted Malaysia’s world #5 Sivasangari Subramaniam 3–2 in a marathon battle.
