Amex And Chase Credit Card Discounts Are Easy To Miss—CardPointers Loads Them For You, And It’s Now 50% Off

I receive compensation for content and many links on this blog. Be aware that websites may earn compensation when a customer clicks on a link, when an application is approved, or when an account is opened. Citibank is an advertising partner of this site, as is American Express, Chase, Capital One, and others. Any opinions expressed in this post are my own, and have not been reviewed, approved, or endorsed by my advertising partners. I do not write about all offers that are available -- instead focusing on miles, points, and cash back (and currencies that can be converted into the same). Terms apply to the offers and benefits listed on this page. You can have an offer for $50 back on a hotel stay sitting in your credit card account and still pay full price, because you didn’t activate it or used the wrong card. CardPointers can load those offers for you, keep them searchable, and remind you which card to use. It’s currently half price, and you can lock in lower pricing ahead of an October 1 increase. I think the strongest case for CardPointers is for someone with several rewards cards who knows there are savings available but doesn’t want to spend time clicking through bank websites to collect them. The latest version can even update offers overnight on Apple devices. But one of its most lucrative Amex tricks has largely stopped working, and it still needs your help tracking which benefits you’ve used. Offer Loading Is The Reason To Pay CardPointers has a free version that helps you organize your cards and choose which one to use. The paid version, CardPointers+, adds the offer automation that’s the main reason to consider paying for it. It supports automatic activation of eligible merchant offers from American Express, Chase, Bank of America, Citi, Wells Fargo, and U.S. Bank. These are the deals attached to your existing cards: spend a certain amount at a merchant and get money back, or earn additional points. That can be highly profitable and automating this can pick up hundreds or thousands of dollars you’d miss. With the browser extension, you sign into your bank’s website and it adds offers according to your settings. They sync to CardPointers, where you can search for a merchant and see which card has the deal. That search is useful when you’re booking a hotel or about to pay for something online. You might know you saw an offer last week, but remembering whether it was on your card, your spouse’s card, or a different bank’s website is another matter. The extension can also flag offers while you’re shopping. The browser extension has traditionally required you to visit the bank websites. CardPointers has added in-app offer syncing on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, with scheduled updates that can run overnight. Saved bank credentials go into your device’s Keychain and are used to sign in directly with the bank and aren’t stored on their end. (You can also decline to save credentials and sign in manually, or continue using the extension.) Unfortunately, they used to be able to add the same Amex Offer to several cards under one login which would scale the value of a good offer. That ended in August because adding an offer to one card now removes the ability to add it to the others. The app can also remind you about a monthly or quarterly credit. The current 50% sale through my link brings the checkout prices to: $44.99 per year, discounted from $89.99. $139.99 for lifetime access, discounted from $279.99. The sale runs through September 30, and regular pricing goes up October 1 to $99.99 annually and $299.99 for lifetime access. At $45 a year, one additional $50 offer that you would’ve missed covers the subscription. Topics on this page
