American man ignites furious culture clash with Europeans over what restaurant service should look like

Updated: 23:32 EDT, 8 October 2026 An American man has ignited a furious culture clash with Europeans over what restaurant service should look like.Adam Pecoraro, who is originally from New York, recently took to TikTok to share the divisive video. He did not mince his words as he began: 'One thing that living in Europe has taught me is that your time is not valuable. 'Nobody in any of these countries gives a flying f**k about anybody else's time.'The fitness coach, who has a secondary account for travel content, continued: 'In Spain for example, if you want to go out to eat, it's a four-hour ordeal minimum.'Not because they want you to chill and have fun and take your time, but because the service is genuinely bad, objectively horrific actually.'Pecoraro claimed that European restaurants are plagued by difficulties getting a seat and delays in service.'When you finally order, you will never see the server again... They'll bring the food out, they'll disappear, they'll scurry away and they'll go somewhere - you don't know where.' I've never quite understood this.'They don't really care because they're not getting tipped. That's why the service is so bad... 'But at the end of the day, if they don't want to be there and they don't want to do their jobs, at least come back to see how things were and cash me out because it's better for both of us.'I can leave and you get rid of me quicker.'He uploaded the clip alongside a caption that read: 'I really love it here but urgency is a very North American concept.'But Pecoraro's sparked a firestorm in the comments with Europeans quick to share their own thoughts. 'Better than American service where you are constantly hassled by the server, and you've barely finished your plate and they're taking it away... 'God forbid you should linger at your table... next customer is waiting,' one scathed. 'Having a meal together is about friends and relationships and enjoying time together. 'The rest of us manage to get seated, served, order sufficient food and drink, so the question you should ask is, what are you doing wrong?' another defended. 'Good service in USA = rude, fake and disrespectful in Europe,' a third mused.'Just chill out, you're not in America, nobody is trying to get you in and out as fast as possible to maximize profits, employers aren't paying terrible wages and convincing staff their pay is bad because people aren't tipping,' someone else shared.
