Amazon hikes price of almost its entire Fire TV stick range – and even cheapest model is up by £20

AMAZON is hiking prices of its Fire TV Sticks in the UK with some set to rise by 50%. The 4K Max device will hit £99.99 from next week with even the cheapest model going up by £20. While the plug-and-play streaming devices have always been an affordable way to add thousands of streaming services, they are about to become a little bit more expensive. Sign up for the Tech newsletter Thank you! Some Fire TV Sticks will be subject to price rises of up to £60 once the brand’s back-to-school sale ends. The entry-level HD stick is currently down to £23.99 but will rise to £59.99 when the sale ends. Similarly, the Fire TV Cube (3rd Gen) is currently selling for £109.99 but will jump to £199.99 when the sale ends on September 3. Meanwhile, the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, currently on sale at £59.99, will be hiked to £79.99. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max will rise from its current price of £47.99 to £99.99. A spokeswoman for Amazon said that the consumer electronics industry is “facing significant increases in memory and storage component costs.” Most read in Money “After absorbing these increases for as long as we could, we recently adjusted pricing across our product lines,” the spokeswoman told Fortune. The company said it still aims to offer products at accessible prices, and that it will run promotions across its lineup throughout the year. Comment now
