It featured James' journey into becoming 007 alongside his rapport with other recruits on the 00 program, making it a fresh take on the character, and with the game being split into numerous chapters, it feels like a perfect fit for a TV adaptation. A 007 First Light TV Show Would Allow It To Stand Out From The Movies Casino Royale is the closest thing we've had to an origin story in the James Bond movie series, as 007 is usually a talented, established agent by the time we see him. There is no reason to assume the next batch of films will be any different, yet 007 First Light diverted expectations and showed James becoming this legendary agent. After a mission for the Royal Navy went wrong, he was given a set of instructions by MI6, which he decided to defy at the last moment to overcome a less than 1% chance to save several lives. Following this incident, he was welcomed into the 00 program, where he met and eventually befriended his fellow recruits, working alongside them until a botched mission. From here, we see him continue to grow in confidence and skill throughout the game, particularly while working with John Greenway, and this storyline making it to TV would be such a breath of fresh air. Compared to other Bond projects, this one really stands out, and a faithful TV adaptation would no doubt do the same. It still features classic James Bond tropes and characters, yet feels tailored to a new audience, which it succeeds in capturing. Additionally, a First Light show would give James Bond another Daniel Craig replacement, as Patrick Gibson could reprise his role, while a new actor plays 007 on the big screen. Having an already compelling story ready to adapt makes it far easier to get a series up and running, especially if the actors are all willing to come back, and airing it alongside new movies would make the franchise stronger than ever without these projects colliding. Therefore, if Amazon wants to dip their toes into the television market with James Bond, First Light could be a guaranteed hit that can stand out from the movies while offering a similar level of quality. A James Bond Show Following The Video Game Series Has Plenty Of Longevity Following the video game series may feel like a bit of a risk for James Bond's potential TV show, but there is actually plenty of longevity there. The success of 007 First Light makes a sequel almost inevitable, especially since the climax set up room for more and essentially promised a follow-up, which would open the door to a second season. By the time a show gets greenlit, produced, and released, there's a good chance 007 First Light's sequel will already be well underway. Therefore, Amazon probably wouldn't have to wait long to get season 2 started, and if the two projects worked side by side, production would be even smoother. Even if the series wanted to go in its own direction following the First Light adaptation, the game left Bond in a great position to be developed while introducing plenty of characters and conflicts that could be utilized instead. This world feels like the beginning of something far bigger, meaning a TV show wouldn't be limited in the slightest. It may be a lot of work to do double duty, but First Light's Patrick Gibson makes for a great James Bond, and he deserves the chance to reprise this role in live-action, even if the series eventually branches off from the games. While there is obviously a lot of pressure when it comes to making a James Bond show, as it would be a big transition for the franchise, replicating 007 First Light's story seems like a surefire win, and one that could set up a long and healthy future for Bond on TV.
